JUNIOR INTERIOR DESIGNER

Westport, CT

This is an exciting opportunity for a highly motivated PT Junior Interior Designer. Join a nationally recognized and award winning boutique interior design firm based in Miami, but with global reach. This position is based in the Northeast, more specifically current projects are ongoing in Fairfield County, Westchester County, NYC and beyond.  The firm offers a collaborative, flexible, and engaging work culture with the opportunity to work on high-profile luxury projects in a progressive environment. Key Responsibilities:

Support the Principal/Creative Director across all phases of work, including Concept, Schematic, Design Development, Construction Documents, and Construction Administration.

Independently create full design concepts for projects based on Principal’s design vision.

General research and all sourcing.

Collaborate with suppliers, vendors, and contractors to source materials and obtain pricing and availability information.

Prepare for client presentations by creating mood boards, floorplans, drawings and elevations.

Follow up with vendors on lead times and quotes.

Research new products and materials.

Type up and organize meeting notes, project status, deliverables, etc.

Read architectural plans and produce scaled sketches, drawings and room layouts.

Assist team in preparing and delivering client presentations.

Qualifications:

Degree in Interior Design or related field of Design.

3+ years of experience in high-end residential environments is an asset.

Proficiency in CAD software (AutoCAD, SketchUp, etc.) and design tools is required.

Strong organizational skills and the ability to prioritize tasks effectively.

Excellent attention to detail and a commitment to delivering high-quality work.

Effective written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to interact professionally with clients and team members.

Knowledge of industry standards, materials, and construction methods.

Familiarity with sourcing materials, furnishings, and finishes - This position is based in Fairfield County, but will require occasional sourcing/site visits in NYC and beyond.

Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet project deadlines.

Positive, friendly and professional attitude, flexibility, and a willingness to learn and grow within the company.

Must have valid driver’s license and insurance with reliable vehicle.

There may be some heavy lifting requested at times and candidate should not be afraid to get their hands dirty.

Salary: Commensurate upon experience
